Rather than trying to keep up with their weekly announcements, here is a link to their website. 10th Planet, a recording facility, has its own site: http://www.10thplanet.com/ Fairbanks Sweet Adelines Rehearsals (11/1/2009 - 12/1/2010) Fairbanks Sweet Adelines Rehearsals every Thursday night, 6:30 - 9:30 PM at the United Community Presbyterian Church, 3510 College Rd., Fairbanks, across from Gulliver's Books. Enjoy four-part cappella harmony in the unique Barbershop Style. We are always recruiting new members, and we welcome all women who enjoy singing to come and try out. The jazz band meets Wednesdays. The jazz band leader is Brian Cade. The concert band meets Thursdays. The director is Wendy Ward. Assistant director is Jim Fisher. The Greatland Sounds Chapter of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A., a men's barbershop chorus, meets every Tuesday evening at 7 at the Church of Christ Northern Lights, 645 11th Ave. All men who enjoy singing are welcome to participate. (This announcement last updated by them in 2004.) Northern Lights Council of Dancers represents square, round and folk dancers in the interior. Our link leads to their very active dance calendar. No cover charge. Carhartt & Flannel Ball (10/4/02) Dance from 8:00pm - 12:00am at the Chena River Convention Center, 109 Clay St, . Hosted by the Alaska Boreal Forest Council, the evening will be filled with live music, fabulous desserts, dancing, door prizes, and good company. Prizes also awarded for best dressed. Cost: $25.00 for individuals, $40.00 for couples. (907) 457-8453. 46th Annual Cham Fashional (10/29/05) 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Quota International Fairbanks. "Mystical Magic." Will be held at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel Gold Room, (cocktails - champagne & hors d'oeuvres), choreographed Fashion Show at 8 p.m., dance till 1 a.m. to live music. This is an annual fundraiser for Quota International Fairbanks, whose special interest is disadvantaged women & children, and those with speech & hearing impairments. Come support a great community service organization while enjoying champagne, hors d'oeuvres, and great fashions, then dance the night away. Dancing, guitar-playing, fiddling and performances by village representatives. Athabascan Fiddlers Association. "The Athabascan Fiddlers Festival has grown tremendously over the past 20 years to become one of the three major cultural events of the year," according to festival founder, Jean Flanagan Carlo.
