Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge

Located sixty miles north of the Arctic Circle, Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge bills itself as "an exclusive luxury wilderness lodge catering to a clientele seeking elegance and independence in the Far North."

The main lodge and an additional guest lodge contain double occupancy rooms, all overlooking five-mile long Iniakuk Lake. Solar and wind power provide 24-hour electricity and hot and cold running water give rise to their boast of being "the only lodge in Alaska with round-the-clock utilities free of fossil fuels and noise pollution."

 Enjoying the wilderness doesn't mean roughing it. "Expect such luxurious pleasures as gourmet meals featuring regional delicacies, freshly baked bread and decadent desserts." The lodge boasts "a well-deserved reputation for delicious meals created in an atmosphere of innovation." There are shared baths in each building and a new shower and bath facility.

Lodge Rates:

Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge is offering all-inclusive packages for the year 2005. They have lots of different adventures and packages, so take a look at their site (link at bottom of page)

Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge: $3,750 per person, based on double occupancy, two person minimum.

Getting Here:

You will need to take a commercial flight from Fairbanks to the  bush community of Bettles. Iniakuk bills itself as the only luxury wilderness lodge north of Anchorage that provides curbside service when you touch down in Bettles. Arctic Wings, a licensed, insured, commercial Air charter service, will meet you.
